The FAVOURITE, Cummings, from Liverpool to Africa, was driven on shore near Holyhead and bilged on Tuesday evening, most the cargo landed in good order
(London Courier and Evening Gazette)
[The name and master match, but it does seem surprising that this old ship was setting off to Africa after a life in the Irish coastal trade!]
Note: in its first Lloyd's underwiters entry in 1819 (F supplement 19) FAVOURITE is simply described as 'old' and built in Aberdeen. However, in 1824 (F171) it is described as built in Dysart in 1782. Given the earlier ignorance it is difficult to give much credence to the exact date, or the change of location.
