About MeThis plate tells the story of the two British sergeants Sedgwick and Hurcombe, who were the unwitting recipients of the surrender of Jerusalem on 9 December 1917. Accounts record that they were scouting for water on the outskirts of the city when they came upon the surrendering party of the Mayor and two Turkish policemen bearing white flags.
