About MePlanetary head grinder made of central rotating disc. Four other discs were attached to this which also rotated. This item is the latter connection and it was attached to a carborundum solid cone. A variety of grades of cone were available depending on the quality of work required.

This replaced the older shotting grinding mechanism of the Jenny Lind & Seaton Polisher. Cones were attached by heating a binding agent on the flat holder surface, and then the cone was bedded into it.
