07/03/1848:
GUERNSEY, March 3.—The FIVE SISTERS, of Glasgow, from Lisbon to Wick, came on shore in La Perelle Bay, this morning, a derelict, and is a total wreck; two bodies and a principal part of the spars have been washed on shore. A quantity of cork is on board; the salt all washed out. She is supposed to have struck a rock outside, during the night, her anchors and chains having been found there, and the log entered as late as midnight.
