About MeThis is one of a series of local tokens that have been issued by various municipalities in Canada highlighting local history, landmarks and so on over the years. Although not legal tender as such, like the many city and town gift cards, is accepted as payment in local businesses.
This token depicting the Thermopylae was issued by the City of Victoria in British Columbia. Like all such local initiatives there was a time limit upon their validity. This naturally results in many becoming souvenirs or collectors items.
