About MeBlack silk mourning crinoline-style skirt with two bands of silk all round the bottom of the even hem, shown with a black silk evening bodice.

Skirts during this time were extremely full. Due to the aid of the artificial crinoline cage, invented during the mid 1850s, the skirt dominated the whole outfit at this time.
