About MeThese objects were all collected by Margaret Hasluck during the time she lived in Europe. The objects here mainly come from Albania and Macedonia, Greece. Margaret sent these objects, together with many others, to the University of Aberdeen during the 1920s.

Carved from wood, this bread stamp was made by monks on Mount Athos, Greece and was used to create a special design on religious holy bread before baking. Bread stamps like this one were commonly used throughout Greece. The symbols on the stamp relate to Christ, the Virgin Mary and nine archangels.
