About MeNewspaper clipping of photograph of Jessie Herbert leaving hospital holding a small square box, with two midwives to the right, one of whom carries her baby, Patricia. The caption is incomplete and reads "Exit the first patient at Aberdeen's new Maternity Hospital ... - Mrs Herbert leaving the hospital yesterday with .... daughter. ("Press and Journal" Co..."

The photograph was given to the family by Aberdeen Journals, who covered the story and took the image. It was rescued from a fire in Jessie’s home and bears the scars of this incident.

The knitted matinee jacket made by the Matron of the new Aberdeen Maternity Hospital for Patricia Herbert and the quaich presented to Jessie are also in the collection.
