About MeCorona Spoon is a humorous take on the Covid-19 two-metre social distancing rule. The design was inspired by a conversation Louise Forbes had about the challenges of dating during the pandemic. The length of the spoon combined with an outstretched arm complied with restrictions.

Forbes spent six hours making the spoon using a hook knife to make the spoon shape and did a rough cut using a bandsaw. She used a Japanese rasp to take the bulk off before filing and sanding with several grades of sandpaper. The spoon was finished with oil.

We acquired this work so that the collection could give insights into pandemic life for future generations.
