About MeThe Aberdeen artist Robert Brough studied at the Royal Scottish Academy where he developed his unique, almost Post Impressionist style; taking inspiration from the French Impressionists and the Brittany and Morocco. His technical brushwork, which Glasgow Boys. He also spent time painting in Paris, contributed to his ability to capture the moment in his works, saw him become a successful portraitist before his early death in a train crash in 1905.

Sir John Duthie KBE was a very wealthy shipbuilder who participated in the formation of the Aberdeen Art Gallery and the Aberdeen Artists Association.
