About MeThe son of artist James Clarke Hook, Bryan Hook followed his father's profession, becoming a professional painter and specialising in animals and birds in a landscape setting. He was a personal friend of the collector who bought this painting, Alexander Macdonald and visited him in Aberdeen, staying at his home, Kepplestone, in the Viewfield area of the city.
