About MeReid painted many of Scotland's castles and ruins, such as this small, romantic view of Cawdor, the edifice half-hidden between framing trees and a pair of graceful swans in the calm water of the foreground.

Cawdor Castle is situated near Nairn in the Scottish Highlands. It is often associated with Shakespeare’s Macbeth, in which the title character is made ‘Thane of Cawdor’, however the castle was built around a 15th century tower house, many years after the life of the 11th-century King Macbeth.
More About Me
