About MeBlack wool Utility Scheme evening suit comprising jacket and trousers.

It was usual for gentlemen to wear a formal suit to a ball, dance or cocktail party in the 1940s and 1950s. Although this is a utility suit, made by Burton, it is typical of the style of formalwear worn by gents during this period. Once clothes rationing finished in 1952 the type and cut of material would have been a little more generous.
More About Me

Despite appearing pretty boxy and shapeless, after war rationing ended the cut of this suit would have been even more generous! What do you think of this fashion?
