About MeThis small, fluted porcelain saucer is hand-painted with a cockerel, crab and flowers including peonies.

The rooster is one of the calendrical animals in the Chinese zodiac.

Born in Aberdeen, James Cromar Watt (1862-1940) was an architect, enamellist and jeweller who amassed a vast collection of decorative art from overseas including Chinese lacquer ware, metalwork, ceramics, carvings and textiles. After his death, many of these objects were bequeathed to Aberdeen City Council.

More About Me
This saucer has a very ornate form and design, whereas most people use very plain crockery for day to day use. If you had something like this, would you use it or put it on display?
