About MeAn outstanding piece of Chinese export porcelain made around 1795 for the British market is with an un-registered coat of arms, perhaps that of a marine society incorporating the ship and naval emblems above the motto "IN GOD IS ALL OUR TRUST". Drawings for specially commissioned pieces were created in Europe and transported on trading ships to China, where they were copied onto ceramic wares. These designs often incorporated family crests, ordered by individual customers – often it would take two years from sending the design until the porcelain arrived back.
