About MeIt is uncertain what the intention of this study was. It has been suggested that it may be a study for Religion: The Vision of Sir Galahad and his Company in the Queen's Robing Room and it is certainly similar in format. However, the inclusion of a baptismal font at the centre of the composition suggests that the study may have been a scene from a baptism in religious history. The two groups separated by the altar are distinctly of the Church and of the monarchy. A tiered papal tiara identifies the figure kneeling to the left. A pastoral staff lying on the floor by his knees points toward the baptismal font, as does the king's sword, emphasising the importance of the font to the scene.
