About MeThe famille verte style (translated as ‘green family’) came to the fore during the Kangxi period, 1662-1722, and continued till the 20th century. It developed from the five-colour Wucai style. As the name suggests, green glaze predominates although other coloured enamels are included. The diamond design, seen on this bowl, is typical as are figures in East Asian dress in a landscape or domestic setting.
