About MeThis painting is a sculptural celebration of the naked female form. Exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1931, it is an interesting example of the interior of a sculptor's workshop. The sculptor in the picture is unidentified.Portland stone is a limestone. It is quarried at Portland and Swanage in England and near Boulogne in France. Limestone, which is softer and easier to manipulate than other stones, is often used to decorate the exteriors of buildings.
