About MeCarte de visite of a woman standing next to a small side table, in her right hand is a book which she is balancing on top of the table. She has her left hand on her stomach. Her hair is up in a middle parting with a decorated headband. Her dress is dark with a full skirt with three ruffles at the hem, long loose sleeves, a belt and a white lace collar with a large brooch. There is also a ring on her left hand. The studio backdrop looks like a decorated living room or study with a window. On the reverse the photographer's details appear in full.
