About MeBased in Edinburgh, the Holyrood Pottery was founded in 1918 by Henry Taylor Wyse, a teacher, painter and furniture designer. A member of the Guild of Handicraft he wrote several books on craft work and continued to work as a teacher during the life of the pottery. Although some pots were thrown at the studio by an assistant, others were bought in blank, and decorated with experimental glazing and marked on the base HOLYROOD. The pottery closed in 1931.More About Me
