About MeAn ovoid stoneware jar which tapers to both foot and rim, with circular domed cover. Both pieces are glazed in a mottled brown wood ash and salt glaze.Michael Casson was a highly respected British studio potter. Casson and his wife Sheila established a pottery at Wobage Farm in Herefordshire in 1977. He specialised in salt-glazed functional stoneware and blended his own slips (liquid clay) and glazes. When salt was introduced to the kiln at a high temperature the distinctive colours and textures for which Casson is known, were produced.
