About MePiassarro was a highly respected member of the Camden Town Group. As the son of the French Impressionist painter, Camille Pissarro, he presented at first hand examples of the practise of the Impressionists.

Despite settling in london in 1890 (to escape the shadow of his father,) Lucien's art remained true to the Impressionism as is illustrated by this picture.

A fellow member of the Camden Town Group, James Bolivar Manson - whose own work was influeced by Pissarro - presented this picture to the Art Gallery. Manson later went on to become the director of the Tate Gallery in London 1930-38.
