About MeOval badge worn as a brooch, depicting the coat of arms of the Central Midwives Board for Scotland, with 3 oyster catchers on a silver crossband, a thistle above and a dove below. Inscribed "CENTRAL MIDWIVES BOARD FOR SCOTLAND" around the border and "CONSILLIO ET PRUDENTIA" (by wisdom and prudence) on a scroll underneath.

This coat of arms was granted to the Board in 1962 and replaced earlier certified midwife badges.

The reverse is inscribed with the name of the qualified midwife, their registration number and date of registration.
