About MeIn his first months as official war artist in Egypt, McBey had experienced transport difficulties and struggled to keep up with the action. However, by February 1918 he had secured the use of a car and was able to follow the movement of troops more easily. On the left is a procession of guns and ahead in the distance a cavalry detachment approaches in a cloud of dust.

Jericho is a city in the Palestinian Territories and is located in the West Bank. As official war artist, McBey struggled to follow the movement of troops until he acquired the use of a car.
