About MeFred Bushe played an active role in Scottish sculpture over the years. In 1980 he established the Scottish Sculpture Workshop in Lumsden which provided an environment where sculptors had the space to create large-scale work with the use of specialist machinery.

Bushe used a range of material throughout his career to create his sculptures. Environment 3 dates form the 1960s when the artist was working in brightly painted planes of metal which define space and indicate movement. The magnificent, coloured abstract forms that echo the glossy environment of painted machinery recall the Constructivist principles of the 1920s when the use of materials reflected the machine age.
