About MeThis view of the Dunlin Alpha platform was taken some six months before actual production commenced from the field. The concrete concrete gravity base structure had been installed in position in June 1977, and then the topsides subsequently attached. The platform was a combined drilling, processing, storage and export facillity.
The semi submersible platform at the rear is Nortroll which at the time was a new drilling rig. It later was converted to become a floating production facillity in the 1990's and subsequently went through a number of name changes including Norther Producer, Northern Emerald and Ali Baba.
