About MeAn idyllic day in the North Sea with a view of the Claymore Platform before the separate accomodation platform was placed alongside in 1995. In the background is standby vessel which is a converted trawler. This was the usual type of standby vessel before the law changed following the Piper Alpha Fatal Accident Inquiry recommendations were published in 1992. After this date the legislation required vessels to be powerful enough to maintain station and equipped to undertake rescue work in all conditions.
