About MeClaymore Alpha in idyllic weather before the new accomodation platform (flotel) was put in place in 1995.
This platform was put in place in 1976 and first produced oil and gas from the field the following year. This view shows the installation where the production and processing activities are sited close to the accomodation modules. This was the norm before Piper Alpha exploded in 1988.
