About MeThe image shows the then year old drilling rig on station in the North Sea flaring and disposing of its burning rubbish into the sea.
It was built as a three leg jackup drilling rig at Clydebank in 1976. It was capable of drilling to depths of 6,000 metres and in water depths of 100m. In 2015 it was working off Thailand operated by Shelf Drilling and in 2019 underwent modification to become a mobile offshore production unit (MOPU) to service oilfields off the Western coast of India.
