About MeOver 2000 fragments of window glass have now been excavated from the Aberdeen Carmelite friary site, built in the 14th century and demolished sometime after the Reformation in 1560. This piece has been painted with a reddish-brown pigment.
Most of the pieces date from the 13th and 14th centuries and have 'grisaille' decoration popular at that date: linear, curvilinear and ring-and-dot motifs with some areas of cross-hatching.
