About MeThis engraving was made for a publication of 'The Apocrypha' (texts which are left out of officially sanctioned versions of the Bible) and illustrates 'The Song of the Three Holy Children'.

The cool emotional detachment of Ravilious' figurative work - and also his debt to early Italian Renaissance frescoes - is evident in the rigid, somewhat impassive stance of the three naked boys, as the flames and angels soar around them.
