About MeCarter, Charles, "Etchings and Drypoints from 1924 by James McBey (1883-1959), published by the Aberdeen Art Gallery in 1962.

The book is signed within the cover with the following:

"With compliments & grateful thanks.
Charles Carter"

Charles Carter was the Director of the Aberdeen Art Gallery, who arranged and edited the "supplement to the Catalogue by Martin Hardie" (published by Messrs. Colnaghi in 1925, and referring to etchings and drypoints from between 1902 to 1924).

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this book.
