About MeCarte de visite of a a man and two women (from left to right): the first woman is pictured standing with a book in her right hand and her left resting on a table with books, papers and pens. She is wearing a dress with a white collar, long sleeves and white cuffs with buttons going down the length of her bodice. Her hair is styled above her shoulders in a middle parting and she appears to be wearing a bracelet on her right wrist. She also has a brooch pinned to her collar as well as one on her belt. The man is also standing, his hair is neatly styled, combed down the right side. He is wearing a matching suit and jacket with a white shirt and patterned necktie. A pocketwatch chain is visible inside his waistcoat, a handkerchief is inside his left breast pocket and he appears to be wearing necklace of some kind with a ring attached to it/ or a monacle (?) The second woman is sitting down at the table with a pen in her right hand; her dress has a white collar and long sleeves with black lace trim on the cuffs. Her hair is styled in plaits woven just above the neck and she is wearing earrings and a shawl. Photographer's full print details can be seen on reverse side. c.1860s
