About MeTwo thick circular bangles which each comprise a band with a right angled shift in shape. They are made of polished plate steel, and are very sculptural and weighty as bangles. Gijs Bakker (Amersfoort, 1942) was trained as a jewellery and industrial-designer at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and the Konstfack Skolen in Stockholm, Sweden. He is considered to be a pioneer in the field of jewellery design, wrestling jewellery from its purely decorative status and giving it a meaningful place in the world of art and design.
