About MeBased in Farnham, Surrey, Duncan Ross produces burnished earthenwares formed from blends of terracotta clay. The surface qualities and patterns are built up using several layers of fine terra-sigillata slip, with inlay and resist lines and texture. The pattern is created by repeating lines and zig-zags taken around the bowl to emphasise its form.

More About Me
The smooth surface of this pot, the patterns on which emphasise the form, come not from glazing, but by polishing the clay before firing.
