About MeTuscan China was the trade name of R.H. & S.L. Plant of Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. The company were well known for their fine china products which featured many innovative designs alongside traditional wares. The trade name was taken from their factory, the Tuscan Works, to which they had relocated in 1898. After working in partnership with Susie Cooper in 1958, the company was taken over by Wedgwood in 1966 and renamed Royal Tuscan in 1971.
More About Me
The word 'porcelain' comes from the old Italian 'porcellana,' which means cowrie shell, because of its resemblance to the surface of the shell.
