About MeA thick oxidised silver circle enclosing oxidised silver brachial forms tipped with soft red felt. It fastens with double vertical pins.In this large brooch Hogg combines the cool colour and surface of oxidised silver with the textural warmth of red felt. Although apparently two-dimensional, the brooch is lifted by the felt-filled 'heads', chiefly for the wearer as she looks down at the brooch pinned to her body. The brooch comes from the Artery Series, speaking of current concerns with health and breathing, emphasised by the brachial forms contained within the outer circle.
More About Me
As the name implies, the Artery series imitates and displays the specimen of the human body. This brooch is made from oxidised silver, with soft red felt symbolising blood and life.
