About MeThe cystoscope is an instrument which allows a visual examination of the bladder. The sheath is the main body of the device which carries various parts for examination and for the insertion of catheters. At the distal end of the sheath is a small electric lamp for illumination of the bladder. The obturator fits the centre of the sheath and protects the body from injury during insertion of the sheath.Aberdeen Royal Infirmary
