About MeA cystocscope is an instrument which allows a doctor to visually examine the bladder and urethra. By means of a lens, camera and light the procedure (cystoscopy) a doctor cane examine a patient for signs of tumours, bleeding, obstructions and infections. Instruments can be passed down the tube to carry out limited surgical procedures such as biopsy, removal of stone, clearing obstruction or placing a stent (a small tube) to by-pass an obstruction. A resectoscope is an instrument used by a uroligist to see and cut diseased tissue.
