The image shows the jacket of Murchison being floated out of the Moray Firth by two tugs. The steel construction on which the living and working modules were later attached weighed approx 25,000 tons. It was a major feat getting the jacket into position and then flooding sections of the bouyancy to enable it to literally stand upright on the seabed 150m below the surface.
