About MeMemorial plaque dedicated to members of the staff of A. R. Gray Ltd who died whilst serving in H M Forces 1939-1945. These men were Warrant Officer (RAF) John F Kelman who went missing over enemy-occupied territory in 1945; Sergeant-Pilot (RAF) John M Leslie who died in a plane crash in 1943; Captain (RASC) Robert Simpson who died in a motor cycle accident with a vehicle convoy; Captain (MN) John L Sinclair who went down with his torpedoed ship in 1942. At the dedication the plaque was said to embody "a story of heroism, of dangers faced not once but again and again, not by men trained from youth as warriors, but by ordinary citizens who answered the call to fight for all that they believed worth having in this life".
