About MeJames Cromar Watt was an Aberdonian architect, artist and a jeweller, and was a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects. This small, asymetrical heart-shaped pendant is set with seed pearls and a seed pearl drop, and features gold granulation work.
Gold granulation is an ancient technique, and it demonstrates his interest in the precious metalwork of the past. By the end of his life, Cromar Watt had amassed a vast collection of ancient oriental ceramics and precious metal artifacts, and he bequest them to the Gallery on his death.
