BEN GLAS was one of two side fishing trawlers built by John Lewis for Richard Irvin of Aberdeen. Operating out of their North Shields office, the other ship was BEN LORA (SN 40). They worked North Sea fisheries landing at Shields Market. Still registered in Lloyd's in 2006.
