The workshops were on Littlejohn Street, Aberdeen. The company were concerned as plumbers, brass founders, pewterers, coppersmiths and gas meter makers. After Thomas snr death in 1826 the firm continued under the care of Thomas Blaikie (jnr) who served as Lord Provost of Aberdeen several times. The Blaikie family business empire in Aberdeen stretched into shipping, shipbuilding, iron working, engineering, as well as banking, law and other areas.
