General History:
1968: Rebuilt, deadweight increased from 7,580 tons to 8,350 tons.
1976-79: Masts and cargo gear removed and signal mast added at forecastle.
2000: Strengthened for heavy goods and winters in Great Lakes.

Sea Breeze magazine said GOSFORTH was laid up in Quebec (Canada) in 2015 with technical problems and it was intended to berth in Montreal to lay up. Later in 2015 it was loaded with scrap from the former laker CANADIAN MINER, wrecked on Scatarie Island for delivery to Malaga, Spain. It arrived at Aliaga for demolition, 25 May 2016.
