celebrated Hogarth, by a refer
ence to the burial Register
of the parish of Chiswick. - the
fact has never been doubted.
The remains of Mr Hogarth
are not to be found in the
brick vault, but they are depo-
sited in the Earth beneath it,
according with his own request.
The tomb was afterwards
erected, over the spot, by his in-
timate friend David Garwick and
presented to the family.
