About MeFrom the 18th century onwards the Chinese produced blue-and-white porcelain for export in vast quantities.
In Britain it was imported for every-day use, since it was less expensive than enamelled porcelain.
These dishes are examples of export porcelain decorated in the underglaze blue technique and featuring typically Chinese motifs.
The gilding may have been added in Europe.
