About MeThis brass-bound black lacquer cabinet, with brass hinged doors, is painted and inlaid with ivory and mother-of-pearl figures and flowers.
The cabinet was acquired by Captain John B. Bruce of the China Navigation Company, in Peking around 1931. Bruce was born in Fraserburgh in 1897 and spent from 1921-1941 sailing up and down the Chinese coast
