About MeIn the centre of this busy photograph is a group of men moving a heavy cart loaded with granite across the scene, whilst in the background a horse is doing a similar job. Towering over the yard are two wooden cranes and although obscured by the stocks of granite you can just make out the sawing shed sticking out from the buildings on the left. The cranes allowed easy movement of stones to different parts of the yard, so yards often remained small to stay within their reach.
