About MeNavy blue corded silk day dress with a low belted waist and pleated front, decorated with fawn crepe de chine inserts and gold thread embroidery.
This dress was made in the 1930s and the donor remembers it being worn by a member of the family to funerals in the 1940s. Particularly since the Second World War, people have generally worn a best outfit of an appropriate dark colour to funerals.
